World’s top players warm-up for the showpiece event with a hit on the stunning Yas Marina Circuit – home to the Formula 1™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
Abu Dhabi, UAE – December 31st, 2009: Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, the world’s top two players, warmed up for the Capitala World Tennis Championship today with a friendly knock-around on one of the most unique playing arenas – Abu Dhabi’s stunning Yas Marina Circuit.
The players, who are returning to the tournament for a second year running, enjoyed the chance to relax their way into the season opener with a short hit on the spectacular track which hosted the inaugural Formula 1™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last month.
In the shadows of the make-shift tennis court was The Yas Hotel which provided the perfect backdrop for Federer and Nadal who are lined-up to join Nikolay Davydenko, Robin Söderling, David Ferrer and Stanislas Wawrinka for the three-day tournament.
The Capitala World Tennis Championship starts today and runs until Saturday (January 2nd 2010) at Abu Dhabi International Tennis Complex in Zayed Sports City.
