Local tennis enthusiasts prepare to join the stars as the Capitala Community Cup finalizes winners

55 players will take part in an exclusive player clinic during the Capitala World Tennis Championship
55 lucky players have won their way through to a once-in-a-lifetime chance to play alongside the world’s best in an exclusive set of clinics at the Capitala World Tennis Championship.
The Capitala Community Cup, a five-week long programme of tournaments held in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, has provided local tennis enthusiasts a unique platform to compete and enjoy the game beyond exclusive tennis clubs.
Winners, runners-up and lucky-draw winners at each tournament have now secured their place to take part in one of four exclusive player clinics during the Capitala World Tennis Championship to be held from 31st December, 2009 – 2nd January, 2010.
The group of tennis enthusiasts will have the exciting chance to rub shoulders with and learn from the superstar players lined up for the award-winning event.
In tournaments just completed over the weekend, Alex Hamad won for the boys and Claudia Oswald was the winner of the girls play-offs, both in the under 16s at the Abu Dhabi International Tennis Complex. Mishaal Choudhury won the under 16s age-group play-off at Atlantis in Dubai.
Ten tournaments across Abu Dhabi and Dubai took place over November and December for players from eight years old right through to adults.
The Capitala Community Cup was launched to help promote the sport of tennis across the UAE and highlight the importance of an active and healthy lifestyle, whilst also giving local players the chance to play competitive tennis.
